Films by Participate students

How it Works

Participate films are written, acted, directed, edited, produced and marketed by students. Films are shown to paying audiences through popular movie theatre chains. Participate provides all necessary production equipment, facilities, sets, infrastructure and professional mentors to empower students to produce commercial grade movies. Students are expected to maintain a highly professional approach to ensure satisfactory completion and screening of the movie.

Students drive the Project. Working in a real film production environment, everyone auditions to take on a role in one of the film departments, best suited to their ability. Principle photography of the feature is approximately 4-6 weeks and may take you off-site. Past productions were filmed all over Sydney, and regional NSW, day and night.

Professional Experience

  • Full-length Feature Film
  • 4 Short Films
  • Documentary
  • Marketing material (trailers, cast photography, graphic designs, posters, website)
  • Fundraising (activities and documentation)
  • Project management (from idea pitch to silver screen)
  • Legal (contracts and agreements)

The Result

On successful completion of the film students are engaged in executing the premiere of the movie in a major cinema followed by screenings across Australia through normal movie theatres, such as Hoyts. Plus in the past selected students have toured with the films around Australia after graduation. Armed with their first feature film credit, our graduates are well prepared for guild membership, future contract negotiation and their next feature film.
